BUA Group has clarified recent reports about its Akwa Ibom refinery project, which claimed the facility is 90% complete. The company has advised the public to disregard these reports, as they did not originate from BUA.
According to BUA, construction of the 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery is progressing steadily and remains on schedule. While the refinery has not yet reached the 90% completion mark, the project is on track to meet its delivery timelines in collaboration with its partners. This ambitious undertaking is expected to significantly boost Nigeria’s refining capacity and energy security.
In addition to the refinery, BUA Group is also advancing other energy projects, such as:
- A mini-LNG plant.
- Hybrid power plants across the country, which will increase its installed power generation capacity to over 1,000MW.
These projects are key steps towards enhancing Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
The company urges the public to rely on official updates from BUA’s verified channels to avoid misleading information.
