A gridlock ensued at the MRS Oil Depot, Tincan Island Port, Apapa LGA , Lagos after a spillage of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) occurred during vessel discharge early this morning. The incident, which led to air pollution around the depot area, prompted a swift response from firefighters and security agencies who arrived in time to prevent a potential fire disaster.
As of now, the situation has been brought under control, with business activities expected to resume later today. Marketers at the depot are hopeful that operations at MRS will soon return to normal.

Petroleumprice News Correspondent reports that the fumes from the spillage enveloped the entire vicinity before the situation was stabilised. Security personnel and police have been stationed at the entrance of the MRS depot to manage the impact of air pollution caused by the PMS storage tank.
MRS Oil Nigeria Plc operates one of the largest lube oil blending facilities in the country, with its Isolo Truck Staging area having the capacity to accommodate over 1,000 trucks.
