Retail outlet owners under the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) are working with MRS filling stations to provide Dangote petrol at N935 per litre.
The PETROAN President revealed that members have started registering with MRS to access products, as direct supplies from Dangote and Port Harcourt (PH) refineries are yet to commence.
“From today, we expect smooth distribution to bring down prices across the country,” the PETROAN leader stated.
While fuel from the Dangote and PH refineries is not yet available, some PETROAN members in Abuja are already selling petrol at lower prices.
“The Dangote pricing model benefits our members, and partnering with MRS allows us to sell petrol nationwide at N935 per litre. MRS has opened its doors to accommodate many of our members, and registrations began yesterday. We hope the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) will also support this effort,” the President added.
He praised the Dangote refinery’s ability to leverage economies of scale and noted NNPCL’s ongoing work to ensure a steady supply of petroleum products.
PETROAN also plans to review logistics and distribution systems nationwide to identify opportunities for cost reductions. “When refiners lower prices and we can buy directly, Nigerians will benefit, which remains our top priority,” the PETROAN President emphasised.
He assured the public that fuel prices will gradually decline but acknowledged fluctuations due to market complexities. “Price reductions will not be static, but the direction is clear,” he concluded.
This initiative marks a positive step toward making fuel more affordable for Nigerians.
