Dangote Petroleum Refinery has taken its crude distillation unit (CDU) offline for maintenance, according to industry sources familiar with the development.
The 650,000 barrels-per-day facility began the maintenance work on January 24. Sources said the refinery has not disclosed the expected duration of the exercise.
Despite the shutdown, Dangote Refinery said it will continue to meet its domestic petrol supply obligations. The company did not provide further details on the CDU’s operational status but reassured the market on gasoline availability.
The CDU plays a critical role in refinery operations, as it processes crude oil into feedstock for downstream units. As a result, market participants are closely monitoring the maintenance, given Dangote Refinery’s expanding influence on Nigeria’s fuel supply chain.
