Following Malaysia’s recent decision to phase out CNG-powered vehicles, some Nigerians have voiced concerns over the safety of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. In response, the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) released a statement to address these concerns and assure Nigerians of the safety and reliability of CNG vehicles.
“Dear fellow Nigerians,
We understand that news from Malaysia has raised questions about the safety of CNG-powered vehicles. But it’s important to consider the context: our market conditions are different from those in Malaysia. Here in Nigeria, we have a strong, thriving industry for CNG vehicle conversions, and this development abroad doesn’t directly impact us.
Stay Positive
Every challenge brings an opportunity to learn and grow. We’ve faced difficulties before and come out stronger. Let’s stay focused, stay positive, and trust in our capacity to adapt and innovate.
We’ve Got This!
Our resilience is our strength. We’ve worked tirelessly to build a robust automotive industry, and we won’t be set back by external decisions. Let’s keep pushing forward and remember that we are destined for greatness.
Safety Regulations
We remain committed to monitoring compliance with local safety standards to ensure that Nigerian drivers continue to enjoy the benefits of CNG safely.
Let’s keep moving forward, Nigeria. We’ve got this.”
