Ardova,Heyden Signs Purchase Agreement with Dangote Refinery

In the quest for Ensuring Steady Fuel Supply and Price Stability in Nigeria, Ardova Plc and Heyden Petroleum have entered a major bulk purchase agreement with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery. This partnership aims to guarantee a steady supply of fuel at affordable prices, helping to stabilise Nigeria’s fuel market and improve energy security for consumers.

This deal follows a similar agreement Dangote Refinery signed with MRS Oil Nigeria Plc. That agreement led to MRS lowering its fuel price to ₦935 per litre nationwide, addressing price differences between states.

    Reliable Fuel Supply for Nigeria

The agreement ensures Ardova and Heyden will receive a consistent supply of petroleum products from the Dangote Refinery, which is the world’s largest single-train refinery. This will enable them to offer fuel at stable and competitive prices, benefitting Nigerians across the country.

In a statement, Ardova Plc highlighted that the agreement would boost competition in the downstream oil and gas sector. The company has been a significant off-taker of petroleum products from the Dangote Refinery since its operations began in 2024.

“This agreement will formalise and strengthen our relationship with Dangote Refinery, ensuring long-term benefits for both companies and fostering a more competitive environment in the industry,” Ardova stated.

Dangote Refinery’s Role in Market Stability

Since it started production in 2024, the Dangote Refinery has played a crucial role in addressing Nigeria’s fuel challenges. Its large-scale production has reduced supply pressures, which previously led to fuel shortages and price hikes.

During the 2024 festive season, Nigerians experienced stable fuel availability and consistent prices, a significant improvement compared to previous years. The Dangote Refinery has been instrumental in maintaining this stability and ensuring fuel prices remain affordable during peak periods.

    Benefits for Consumers

This agreement marks another step in ensuring a reliable fuel supply for Nigeria. By partnering with Dangote Refinery, Ardova and Heyden are securing their operations and helping to stabilise the fuel market, bringing much-needed relief to Nigerian consumers.

These partnerships demonstrate a commitment to addressing long-standing fuel issues in Nigeria and creating a more stable, competitive energy sector.
