The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) announced that it has resolved its legal dispute with Heyden Petroleum Limited, leading to the withdrawal of a lawsuit previously filed against the oil company.
In a statement released on Wednesday, AMCON clarified the situation following recent reports of litigation between the corporation and Heyden Petroleum. Contrary to claims that a federal high court in Lagos ordered an interim takeover of Heyden Petroleum due to financial challenges, AMCON confirmed that the company has shown ongoing commitment to fulfilling its financial Lagos NURTW Launches N10.2 Billion Worth of CNG Tricyclesbligations.
“Our attention has been drawn to a recent media publication regarding the pending litigation between AMCON and Heyden Petroleum Limited,” the statement reads. “We hereby inform the public that AMCON and Heyden Petroleum have amicably settled all issues, with the company actively making payments as agreed.”
AMCON further disclosed that the specific case, suit no. FHC/AMC/67/2024, has been officially withdrawn. As Nigeria’s federal debt recovery agency, AMCON reaffirmed its commitment to working discreetly with obligors who demonstrate good faith in meeting their obligations, avoiding any form of media sensationalism.
The corporation encouraged the public to disregard negative narratives about its relationship with Heyden Petroleum, highlighting that the settlement reflects both parties’ dedication to a cooperative and professional resolution.
