Goli InnocentBy Goli InnocentSeptember 30, 2025 Others

Fresh arrivals of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Base Oil are reshaping cargo flows across Lagos and Port Harcourt. Independent marketers, including Bovas, NIPCO, and II PLC, secured new supplies between September 26 and September 30, 2025, despite strike-related disruptions at select jetties.

Confirmed Tanker Activities (26–30 September 2025)

    1. Mycroft – AGO Vessel for NIPCO (Lagos)

    • Product: Automotive Gas Oil (AGO)
    • Quantity: 24,000 MT
    • Depot: NIPCO
    • ETB: 26 September 2025
    • Remarks: Discharge suspended after 12,000 MT parcel due to strike; balance to be completed at Warri Port.
    • Analysis: NIPCO’s supply line faces delays, but the Warri diversion provides regional balance amid port disruptions.

    2. Bagshot – Base Oil Vessel for II PLC (Lagos)

    • Product: Base Oil
    • Quantity: 6,500 MT
    • Depot: II PLC
    • ETB: 26 September 2025
    • Remarks: Discharge halted by strike action; operations to resume on September 30, AGW.
    • Analysis: The Base Oil inflow is strategic for blending operations, though delays could tighten lubricant supply in Lagos.

    3. Anael – AGO Vessel (Port Harcourt)

    • Product: Automotive Gas Oil (AGO)
    • Quantity: 30,000 MT
    • ETB: 26 September 2025
    • Depot: TBC
    • Remarks: Loading ex Okrika Refinery.

    4. St Ilhaam – AGO Vessel (Lagos)

    • Product: Automotive Gas Oil (AGO)
    • Quantity: 20,000 MT
    • Depot: TBC
    • ETB: 27 September 2025
    • Remarks: Discharge suspended due to strike; operations expected to resume on September 30.
    • Analysis: Suspension underscores the wider impact of strike action, leaving AGO marketers exposed to temporary shortfalls.

    5. Trister Natasha – Ethanol Vessel (Lagos)

    • Product: Ethanol
    • Quantity: 17,493 MT
    • Depot: TBC
    • ETB: 27 September 2025
    • Remarks: Discharging in progress.
    • Analysis: Non-fuel cargoes like ethanol support Nigeria’s industrial and manufacturing sector, sustaining demand amid tight import windows.

    6. Lady Victoria 1 – PMS Vessel for Bovas Oil (Lagos)

    • Product: Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
    • Quantity: 10,000 MT
    • Depot: Bovas Oil
    • ETB: 27 September 2025
    • Remarks: Awaiting confirmation of discharge programme.
    • Analysis: This PMS inflow is pivotal for Bovas’ retail strategy, strengthening its competitive position in Lagos and Southwest Nigeria.

    7. Mosunmola – PMS Vessel (Warri)

    • Product: Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
    • Quantity: 18,000 MT
    • Depot: TBC
    • ETB: 28 September 2025
    • Remarks: Discharging in progress.
    • Analysis: Fresh PMS inflow into Warri provides relief to the Delta corridor, enhancing retail availability in a region facing trucking bottlenecks.

    Market Implications

The combined 125,000 MT of AGO, PMS, and Base Oil confirmed for berthing between September 26 and 30, 2025, offers critical supply relief at a time of operational challenges. While strike actions delayed certain discharges, independent marketers like Bovas, NIPCO, and II PLC remain central in balancing regional supply lines.

The Warri corridor, boosted by Mosunmola’s PMS delivery and Mycroft’s redirected AGO cargo, is set to stabilise retail distribution outside Lagos. Meanwhile, the Okrika-loaded Anael demonstrates Port Harcourt’s growing role in supply diversification.
